What’s on offer? 

Remuneration package of up to $90,200.00 p.a., comprising base salary of $78,925.60 p.a. (HM11), employer contribution to superannuation (10%), continuous medical education support allowance $3380 p.a. pro rata), examination leave (up to 8 days p.a) conference/seminar leave (1 week/p.a.).

About the Intern Role  

Intern Doctors are provided with clinical exposure through allocations to different specialist departments throughout the year to undertake core and non-core rotations. The term is designed to provide appropriate exposure and experience to enable you to attain the required skills and knowledge for that term in that discipline.

It is expected that Monash Health will have ~117 Intern positions in 2023 (subject to accreditation of 10 roles with PMCV). Monash Health value the need for flexible work arrangements and are supportive of part time job-share requests.

We offer core rotations in:

  • General Medicine 

  • Emergency 

  • Surgery (General, Upper GI, Colorectal) 

  • We also offer speciality rotations (non-core) in: 

  • Dermatology 

  • Gastroenterology 

  • Haematology 

  • Infectious Diseases 

  • Neurology/Stroke 

  • Orthopaedic Surgery 

  • Palliative Care 

  • Psychiatry (Adult, Aged and Adolescent) 

  • Radiology 

  • Rehabilitation Medicine

Offers of employment are dependent on PMCV match results.  A formal employment contract is issued once all required probity checks have been completed.  These include: 

  • reference checks- Uploaded through PMCV 

  • a clear Police Check/Fit2Wprk which you will receive to complete if successful  

  • a current Victorian Employee Working with Children’s Check (or proof of payment for same)  

  • proof of immunisation 

Under the Victorian Public Health orders, all employees working within the Public Health system must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and are required to provide acceptable evidence of their vaccination status.  The current orders require evidence of three doses. 

All applicants to positions with Monash Health will need to upload acceptable evidence of full vaccination against COVID-19 as part of their application.  Acceptable evidence is a copy of your Immunisation History Statement or your COVID-19 Digital Certificate, which can be accessed via MyGov.
