About Monash Neurology
Monash Neurology is one of the largest provider of neurology patient care in Victoria and a state-wide designated endovascular clot retrieval centre. This unit sees over 2000 patients a year with a significant number of stroke patients. We have two concurrent stroke teams along with a neurology ward team and three consultation teams (Monash Medical Centre, Dandenong Hospital, and Casey Hospital). There is ample opportunity to rotate through various fields of neurology such as acute stroke management, multiple sclerosis, neurophysiology, epilepsy, neuro-oncology, neuro-ophthalmology, neuro-degenerative diseases, neuro-otology, headache, and chronic neurology. Monash neurology also provide a large ambulatory services with a large number of EEG and EMG being performed providing excellent training opportunities. Monash Neurology is also world renowned for its research and subsequent publications.
About the Role
There are four unaccredited neurology registrar positions available in 2023. This is supported by four core neurology advanced trainees. This will involve registrars rotating through stroke, neurology and consults. Trainees will be part of the call roster so will have vast clinical experience as well as ample research opportunities. There is also a strong focus on teaching.
