The Aboriginal Liaison Officer (ALO) is responsible for providing information and support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) consumers and their families. When required they assist in the planning and implementation of the assessment, admission, treatment, case management and referral, discharge and follow up process for ATSI patients and their families. The service is provided to the bed based and community programs with the Mental Health Directorate and upon request to all other areas at AWH.

We require a dynamic Aboriginal Liaison Officer to participate as a member of acute community intervension team and provide cultural perspective to multidiciplinary team a, thus promoting culturally sensitive practivce.
