Aboriginal Nursing, Midwifery or Allied Health Cadetships

Are you studying Nursing, Midwifery or Allied Health?

Two great opportunities exist at BRHS for enthusiastic and committed individuals to gain valuable clinical experience in your chosen field of study.

This Cadetship Program provides Aboriginal students with paid on the job training and experience in a clinical environment relevant to your area of study. Cadets will work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Midwife or Allied Health Professional to provide patient-centered care. The positions are to be worked over 40 eight hour shifts (or other negotiated equivalent hours).

Eligibility Criteria

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor degree in nursing and/or midwifery, or a Bachelor degree or Master/Doctorate level entry degree in an Allied Health discipline
• Successfully progressed beyond the first year of the degree
• Maintained a pass grade in all subjects
• Living in Victoria

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

• A commitment to providing patient centred care with a compassionate approach
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary health team
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
