An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic  [Addiction Medicine Registrar to join our Mental Health Department from February 2023.

Details of position/position requirements

The Addiction Medicine Registrar is a clinical role providing addiction expertise to support consumers with Alcohol and other drug related difficulties within Austin Health.  The role will be split across community mental health and Consultation Liaison services to enable to registrar to gain expertise and training.

The role is an Advanced Training VMST funded position and may require some additional paperwork on obtaining the position. The role can be filled by either a RACP or RANZCP registrar and supervision will be supplied to meet both Colleges requirements.

To be successful in this role you must:

  • Be a registered Medical Practitioner with Australian Registration (AHPRA registration)

  • Have appropriate training and experience

  • Demonstrate a commitment to high quality patient care

  • Demonstrate a capability and interest in research
