Administration Officer - Ward Clerk

About the role


Maroondah Hospital Ward 1North is a fast paced Orthopaedic Surgical ward dedicated to providing the highest standard of care.


This position will suit an applicant with outstanding customer service with patient focus. In this role you will be responsible for unit administrative duties and supporting nursing staff with the efficient and smooth management of the area.


Computer and interpersonal skills are required with proven clerical experience. The incumbent will have a positive attitude and be able to work under pressure.


The position involves a broad range of administrative duties including admit, transfer and discharge patients as required, reception, telephone enquiries and record management.


It also requires performing data entries, maintenance & compilation of medical records, real time updating of patient information and using Homer system.


Experience in Hospital Patient Information Management Systems and medical terminology is highly desirable.



About you


To be successful in this role you should possess:



  • Well-developed customer service and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • Accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of your work

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills

  • A strong administrative background (with knowledge of medical terminology)

  • Experience with Patient Information Systems
