The advertised position is for a fixed term, part time position 0.8FTE (60.8 hours per fortnight).

As the successful applicant, you will be responsible for providing a broad range of administrative support services to members at the Gisborne Police Complex.

As the successful applicant your duties will include:

  • Undertake a range of functions around the receipt, management, and disposal of property items in accordance with police policy and relevant legislation.
  • Perform a variety of computerized activities including data entry, typing and word processing.
  • Prepare routine correspondence on a range of administrative matters and attend to follow-up procedures as required with a high attention to detail.
  • Attend enquiries from internal and external stakeholders, provide initial information and advice as required.
  • Receive, record, and distribute mail and correspondence.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Experience in working with computers and systems to perform a range of administrative tasks including, records management, data entry and word processing tasks.
  • Must have the ability to accurately maintain systematic and administrative records.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work successfully within a team environment and ability to work independently.
  • Prioritisation skills and ability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Ability to work autonomously and prioritise work with minimal supervision.
  • A strong commitment and a demonstrated record in meeting customer needs. 

Requirements and relevant information

  • One (1) fixed term, part time position available for 6-months.
  • VPS2: $56,271 - $72,262 p.a. plus superannuation (pro rata for part time)
  • Your usual place of work will be Gisborne Police Complex. However, you may be expected to work out of any location within Western Region Division 5, as required.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
  • In accordance with the Acting Chief Health Officer's Direction – COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions, you are required to be fully vaccinated and your employment with Victoria Police is subject to proof of vaccination.
