About the role:
The Road Policing Enforcement Division's Traffic Camera Office (TCO) maintains traffic camera availability at a sufficient level to dramatically increase the likelihood of speed and red-light offence detection. This creates a real deterrent to dangerous road behaviour and establishes a base for long term modification in driver behaviour and attitude. The ultimate goal is to reduce the number and severity of road traffic collisions.
Consisting of both VPS and Sworn staff members, the TCO issues all Road Safety Camera Infringements, which involves strong engagement with road safety partners and contracted service providers that maintain the traffic camera network.
Functions within the TCO also include review of all infringements, nomination of infringements, brief preparation/prosecution assistance, mobile camera roster management, infringement evidence validation, tolling infringements/prosecutions, high risk driver investigations, and infringement management for all of Victoria Police.
