We are seeking a skilled Administration Support Officer which will perform a vital support role to Frankston Prosecutions, providing daily administrative support to a high-functioning team of Prosecutors and Police Lawyers so that they can fulfil their core function; the provision of independent and professional prosecution services to the community of Victoria by supporting judicial proceedings on behalf of Victoria Police.

Your duties will include:

  • Providing a wide range of administrative support functions to the team, including preparation and administrative management of a large number of court files and correspondence;
  • Supporting and advocating the professional image of Victoria Police when acting as first point of contact to telephone, email and in-person enquiries from internal and external stakeholders;
  • Performing a high volume of data entry and filing, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality is applied to all records and databases;
  • Providing quality services to internal stakeholders, ensuring that tasks are completed accurately and within expected timeframes;
  • Participating in team-meetings and discussions as appropriate.


As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience performing administrative support functions;
  • Capability to work autonomously and within a team-environment, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing workload priorities;
  • A solution-focused and service excellence objective;
  • Strong IT literacy skills;
  • Proficient time-management skills;
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritisation skills;
  • A well-developed professional telephone manner and a commitment to service excellence;
  • Experience working in the justice environment would be highly regarded, but is not essential;
  • Previous experience in a similar role managing sensitive material would be highly regarded.


Requirements and relevant information:

  • This position is located at Frankston Police Complex, 15 Fletcher Road, Frankston. However, in order to support the Legal Services Department's commitment to a flexible and deployable legal workforce and professional development opportunities throughout the Legal Services Department, the successful applicant may be asked to work at other locations within the Department.  This will be managed in accordance with the provisions of the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement 2020.
  • Due to the duties of the role, possession of a current Victorian Drivers Licence would be highly regarded.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
