Advanced Developmental Paediatric Practitioner
Up to 1.2 EFT - 45.6 hours/week, permanent part time or full time position

Colac Area Health is a values based organisation providing a unique integrated health service comprising of over 500 employees, providing Acute Care, Aged Care, Community and Allied Health Services.

The Advanced Developmental Paediatric Practitioner (ADPP) role is held by an experienced paediatric Allied Health Therapist, operating at an advanced scope of practice to perform additional tasks identified as being transferable between allied health professions.

Colac Area Health are seeking an experienced Allied Health Professional (Social Worker, Occupational Therapist or Speech Therapist) looking to work in an innovative way with our paediatricians to provide:

  • Developmental clinical risk screening
  • Timely access to early assessment and diagnosis
  • Interventions and advice to parents across developmental domains
  • Clear referral pathways

What’s required?

  • Registered Clinician relevant to this position with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or eligible for AASW/SPA membership.
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise in paediatric developmental assessment, care coordination or case management.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in the provision of paediatric services.
  • Experience in developing, applying and promoting innovative models of care.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to navigate solutions towards desired outcomes.
  • Previous experience working in a multidisciplinary allied health team.
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise or willing to complete competency training to deliver transferable care across psychology/social work, occupational therapy and speech pathology scopes of practice.
  • Skill in the evaluation and implementation of evidence-based practice and modification of service delivery.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with consumers and service providers.
  • Ability to maintain high level professional practice standards at all times.
  • Ability to proactively contribute to and adapt to internal and external change.
  • Ability to differentiate, accept and exercise appropriate mechanisms of internal and external communication and accountability.
  • Ability to think conceptually and a commitment to innovation.
  • Current Working with Children Check, Police Check, and Current Victorian Driver’s Licence.
