About the role

An exciting new opportunity exists at Eastern Health for an early career pharmacist to join our team and participate in our SHPA accredited structured Advanced Training Residency (ATR) program in Geriatric Medicine.

The successful applicant will work across Eastern Health sites within Geriatric Medicine areas on a rotational basis. The ATR will be assigned a Preceptor/Mentor and will complete tasks such as Mini Clinical Evaluation Exercises, Case Based Discussions which then will be presented as a Case Presentations and will develop a professional portfolio.

Supervision and training of intern pharmacists and pharmacy students and participation in weekend, public holiday and on-call rosters will be required.

Applicants need to be a registered pharmacist (or soon to be registered) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and have a valid Victorian Driver Licence.

About you 

To be successful in this role you are required to possess the following:

  • Registered as a Pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
  • Commitment to patient-focused service.
  • Able to effectively function autonomously in clinical areas
  • Able to function effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral
  • Capacity to perform under pressure, to meet time constraints and determine work priorities
  • Computer literate
  • Demonstrated understanding of customer service of internal and external customers and be committed to effectively meet their needs in a helpful and professional manner
