About the role

Are you a motivated professional Senior Nurse with relevant experience in managing patient access and flow?  The role of After-Hours Hospital Coordinator may be just what you are looking for. This position requires well developed nursing leadership skills including outstanding communication, excellent problem solving and the ability to work well within multidisciplinary teams.

Applicants must be able to effectively manage the role of incident controller for our Box Hill site, and be a lateral thinker to ensure the best outcomes for our patients, staff and the organisation.

To be successful, the applicant must clearly demonstrate a sound knowledge of current health policies, strategies for effective patient flow, and be committed to best practice.

About you

To be successful in this role you should possess:

  • Broad based knowledge and experience in a similar role or managerial experience at a Senior Nursing level.

  • The ability to facilitate, lead and embrace change.

  • Current nursing registration with AHPRA.

  • Post Graduate qualifications in a relevant field.

  • Highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to consult and negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders.

  • Flexibility to work a rotating roster including nights and weekends.

  • Ability to effectively manage staffing resources within budget whilst ensuring all care standards are maintained.

  • The ability to work as part of a diverse team, but also as an autonomous practitioner when required.
