Looking for a tree change? The Department of Education and Training is offering an exciting opportunity for a Psychologist to join the Student Support Services team in the Ovens Murray Area, based in Benalla or Wodonga. Ovens Murray covers a large geographical area of North East Victoria ranging from Corryong and Wodonga up on the Murray River, down past Benalla into Mansfield as well as many beautiful Alpine locations including Bright and Mt Beauty. In addition to being a famed food and wine region, North East Victoria also boasts ample outdoor activities such as water skiing, hiking and snow skiing; there is something here to suit everybody.

The successful applicant will be required to provide a range of supports to schools in collaboration with the broader Area team. Flexibility, the ability to operate as part of a multi-disciplinary team and autonomously when required are key requirements of the role. This position is an ongoing role at 1.0FTE and can be based from Benalla or Wodonga.

The purpose of Student Support Services (SSS) is to assist children and young people facing a range of barriers to learning to achieve their educational and developmental potential through the provision of a range of strategies and specialised support at individual, group, school and Area levels.

SSS comprise a broad range of Allied Health professionals including psychologists, speech pathologists, social workers and visiting teachers. SSS staff work as part of a multi-disciplinary health and wellbeing team within Areas, focusing on providing group based and individual support, workforce capacity building, and the provision of specialised services.

SSS do vital work in supporting students' health and wellbeing - particularly our most vulnerable students - and are critical to building an excellent education system that reduces the impact of disadvantage.
