Ongoing, Part Time role

56 hours per fortnight Fixed Term until 26/09/2021, then 24 hours per fortnight Ongoing  

An enthusiastic and capable Allied Health Assistant is sought to join our Allied Health Team in this permanent position.  This is a great opportunity to further your skills and knowledge within a large, multifaceted organisation and enjoy being part of our dedicated Allied Health team. Applications for a portion of these hours will be considered.

In this role you will work across a variety of Allied Health disciplines to provide clinical support and direct therapy services for clients that promotes, maintains and assists recovery and independence in all aspects of daily living.  Areas will include Occupational therapy, Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Speech Pathology and Dietetics.  Under the direction of an Allied Health Professional, key tasks will include providing clinical care to patients in individual or group settings, using screening tools to gather information, documenting client progress and managing supplies and equipment.  

Key criteria required includes:

  • Qualification as an Allied Health Assistant – minimum Certificate 3
  • An understanding of the physical and psychological aspects of rehabilitation care with the ability to treat, empathise with and provide person centred care to individuals with a range of abilities
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills to enable effective liaison within a multi-disciplinary team and accurate documentation of case notes and statistics
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
  • Proven ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
