About the role:
An opportunity exists for an Allied Health Assistant (AHA) in the Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service, Goulburn Valley (VPRS-GV). VPRS-GV is a specialist assessment and treatment service for children and adolescents who, as a result of injury, medical/surgical intervention or functional impairment, will benefit from a program of developmentally appropriate, time-limited, goal-focused, multidisciplinary rehabilitation.
The AHA will work as part of the multidisciplinary team. The role involves completing a variety of direct and indirect clinical and administrative tasks under the direction of allied health professionals. The AHA may assist a client to complete an exercise program or activity of daily living, assist with facilitating a group program, order, clean and manage delivery of equipment, assist with the management of new referrals and coordination of multidisciplinary clinics.
This is a 12 month fixed term, 0.3 EFT position suitable for a Grade 2 AHA. Hours of work may be negotiated upon request. Please contact the VPRS Regional Coordinator to discuss.
The successful applicant should possess a Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or be working towards same, or similar qualification. A current Victorian Driver’s license, satisfactory National Criminal History Record Check & Working with Children Check are required prior to commencing employment.
The successful applicant will have well-developed time management and problem-solving skills, the ability to prioritise tasks and work under minimal supervision. Applicants should also possess excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively within a team environment. A sound knowledge of computer based software applications including Word/Excel/database management systems is also required.
