An exciting opportunity exists for a VPS 4 Analyst on an ongoing basis in our Infrastructure Policy and Assurance team in the Commercial division.

The Infrastructure Policy and Assurance (IPA) group is an influential and trusted source of advice relating to infrastructure project assurance for the State's capital investments. IPA's key functions are:


  • providing high quality advice to government on capital investment proposals through the State budget process;


  • applying project assurance as it relates to the High Value High Risk Project Assurance Framework and Gateway Review Process; and


  • providing frameworks, guidance and policy advice to government on infrastructure investments (including at the program level), asset management, construction and commercial contracting.

As our ideal candidate, you will be required to demonstrate


  • Well-developed financial analytical and conceptual skills with demonstrated experience in researching and analysing feasibility studies, investment proposals, business cases, and plans/reports and providing strategic advice and recommendations.


  • Good knowledge of Government policy and practice impacting on financial and contractual arrangements with external parties, particularly those relating to provision of infrastructure.


  • Good written and oral communication skills, including demonstrated experience in writing and delivering briefings within tight timeframes and ability to present to a variety of audiences.


  • Very good interpersonal skills with an ability to build networks and liaise internally and externally and effectively represent the branch and Department in external forums. Experience working collaboratively within and across teams with diverse skills.


  • Strong project management and organisational skills with an ability to display initiative, be responsive and provide the required outcomes in a timely manner.
