Role: Analytics Lead, Epidemiology and Investigation (Role until - 30 June 2021)

Position Summary: 

  • Coordinate and manage the functions performed by the assigned Analytics Team.
  • Provide specialist technical advice relating to the surveillance and analytics of COVID 19 to the broader Data, Intelligence, Modelling and Epidemiology (DIME) group and relevant internal and external stakeholders

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Analysts and Senior Analysts in the generation and assembly of quantitative and statistical analyses relating to COVID 19
  • Contribute advanced technical expertise to strategic planning of the assigned Analytics Team and with the other Team Leads in the delivery of high quality evidence to inform Victoria's COVID 19 response.
  • Design, oversee and conduc t quantitative epidemiological analyses and compile evidence and reports summarising key outcomes of these analyses for relevant stakeholder groups
  • Plan, prioritise and monitor the program of work performed by the Analytics Team
  • Liaise closely and maintain productive working relationships with other DIME leads/team members to optimise the compilation of analysis to inform the COVID 19 response.
  • Facilitate the sharing and interpretation of intelligence arising from the activities of the Analytics Team to key stakeholders
  • Develop briefs on highly complex issues and provide recommendations for policy / programmatic response drawing on the intelligence arising from Analytics Team activities.

  • Clearly define roles and expectations of the assigned Analytics Team, monitor team performance, provide feedback, facilitate staff development and resolve or escalate issues as necessary.

  • Actively participate in Investigation Analysis Team meetings and other meetings as required.
