Associate Nurse Unit Manager


Intensive Care Unit


Permanent - Part Time


(32 hrs per fortnight)



Applications are invited from Registered Nurses to join our professional team in Intensive Care Unit. This is a permanent part time position and provides weekend coverage.


This position involves supporting the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to provide leadership and direction to the clinical and non-clinical staff within the unit to affect a high standard of clinical and professional care.


On a shift by shift basis the ANUM will be responsible for the development and implementation of processes and procedures, effective and efficient admission and discharge planning management of appropriate staffing levels, performance management and staff compliance with education and competency requirements.



Key Selection Criteria:


Essential:



  • Registered Nurse Division 1 with current AHPRA registration

  • Post Graduate Critical Care Certificate of equivalent

  • Demonstration excellent clinical assessment skills and evidence of recent advanced nursing care of the critically ill patient

  • Demonstrated strong clinical safety and professional standards within the critical care environment

  • Excellent communication both orally and in writing

  • Demonstrated ability in decision making, role model, problem solving and supervising team members

  • Commitment to continuous quality improvement and superior customer service


Desirable:



  • Relevant post graduate/tertiary management qualification
