About Us

Corrections Victoria is responsible for the implementation of policies, programs and services that ensure the safe and secure containment of prisoners and that seek to rehabilitate offenders by addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour.

Loddon Prison is a medium security prison that operates as an open campus within a secure perimeter.  Loddon Prison accommodates prisoners serving short, medium and long term sentences for a diverse range of offences.

In this secure environment, a range of programs and services are offered to address offending behaviour and to support prisoners preparing for release or transition to minimum security facilities.  Loddon Prison offers education, health, offending behaviour programs, recreation, as well as industry-based employment.

Middleton provides accommodation for restricted minimum and minimum-security prisoners in cottage style accommodation. Middleton supports prisoners as they transition to open camp environments or back into the community through employment, education and personal development programs.

Tarrengower is minimum security open camp prison for women with a focus on release preparation.  A range of programs and employment opportunities are also available to the women.

The three prisons' ability to deliver a high standard of service depends on recording, managing and accessing reliable information in a timely manner.
