Looking for a position that allows you to contribute to Ambulance Victoria (AV) strategic plans whilst applying your strong accounting and or asset management skills. Then look no further! 

Ambulance Victoria (AV) welcomes applications for the position of Asset Senior Officer.  This is a full time, permanent position currently based in Doncaster. 

About the role

Reporting to the Manager, Asset Management, this position is responsible for managing an effective and efficient stocktake program and to assist with building a culture of accountability across AV for effective asset management. 

The position includes (but are not limited to) the following duties: 

  • Manage AV's stocktake program, including identification and prioritisation of areas that are at high risk of material misstatement and keeping the asset registers up-to-date.
  • Identify non-adherence of AV asset policy and procedures and other issues that may impact the accuracy of the recording assets in AV's asset register and provide recommendations to the relevant parties e.g. asset manager and Fixed Assets team.
  • Undertake self-education and be familiar with relevant aspects of financial compliance frameworks (Financial Management Act, Financial Reporting Directions), Australian Accounting Standards (AASB), Asset Management Accountability Framework (AMAF), asset management standards (ISO 55001) and other external reporting obligations.
  • Identify system and process improvements that could increase efficiency, effectiveness and/or adherence to existing asset accounting and asset management policy and procedures.
  • Investigate the use of technology to continually improve asset identification, recording and stocktake procedures.
  • Generate routine and ad hoc asset reports to meet the information needs of various stakeholders.

About you

To be successful in this position, you will possess a tertiary qualification in accounting, engineering or related discipline along with a sound understanding of accounting concepts and principles. Knowledge and experience with computerised asset registers is essential. 

It is expected that you will have strong proficiency and knowledge in Microsoft Office suite applications including intermediate computer skills.  Strong communication and problem solving skills with excellent attention to detail will ensure your success in this position.

The successful candidate must have a current Victorian Driver's License and be willing to travel throughout metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria when required.  

The salary for this position is graded at AV3 – commencing at $75,727 plus superannuation.
