About us

The Department of Justice and Community Safety is responsible for managing COVID-19 accommodation programs as part of Victoria's public health response to coronavirus.

The department is running three programs that support people to quarantine and self-isolate to help slow the spread of coronavirus in the community: 

  • Mandatory quarantine for returned overseas travellers
  • Emergency accommodation for community residents
  • Frontline worker accommodation

The Victorian Chief Health Officer has mandated that all returning overseas travellers arriving in Victoria must go into mandatory quarantine for 14 days from the day of their arrival to help slow the spread of coronavirus.

Emergency accommodation is available to people in Victoria who need support to quarantine or self-isolate safely because they have been diagnosed with coronavirus or are a close contact of a person with coronavirus.

Frontline worker accommodation is available for workers leading the public health and safety response to coronavirus who need support to quarantine or self-isolate safely.

Infection control and prevention is the primary objective of the mandatory quarantine and emergency accommodation programs.

About the role

As the Assistant Manager, Quality Assurance, you will: 

  • develop and maintain an effective quality assurance framework over the operations of Authorised Officers, including assessment of compliance with the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008 and other operational requirements, including quality assurance (QA) policies, standards and procedures
  • provide effective and timely data and analysis to support the management of Compliance and Enforcement (C&E) operational performance and reporting requirements, in support of C&E management and advice to decision makers
  • provide direction, leadership, performance management and support to Authorised Officers Procedure Analysts and Operational Reporting Analysts.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • demonstrated experience in a regulatory environment
  • previous experience in a quality focused role coupled with a thorough understanding of quality assurance and risk management principles.

A formal qualification in Quality Assurance and Compliance is desirable.
