About the role

An opportunity exists for a dynamic passionate improvement specialist to join the Performance Excellence Team.  The Associate Director Quality Planning and Innovation - Performance Excellence role will be responsible for leadership in developing a culture and capability for performance excellence and performance improvement and innovation across Eastern Health.  The role entails working with programs and sites and all levels of staff to undertake improvement work to assist Eastern Health to progress the organisation’s high priority improvement projects. 

The Associate Director Quality Planning and Innovation - Performance Excellence will work with key stakeholders to implement Eastern Health’s continuous improvement methodology, employing a range of tools and techniques to ensure a rigorous approach to improving processes and performance.  As a member of the Quality Planning and Innovation Directorate, the role will also contribute to the work of the Directorate generally.

About you 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

    • At least 3 years experience in redesign and improvement methodologies with a specific focus on lean methods and tools

    • At least 3 years experience in delivering successful change in a complex health care environment

    • At least 3 years experience in project management

    • Experience in training coaching senior staff in improvement, project and change management

    • Ability to understand, analyse and report performance data

    • Superior communication skills, both verbal and written

    • Demonstrated ability to engage a diverse range of stakeholders

    • A well developed understanding of health service funding and performance requirements

    • A commitment to improving the patient’s experience of their health care

    • A Victorian Drivers Licence

    • Tertiary qualification in health related field
