Associate/ Genetic Counsellor - The Women's Clinical Genetics Service


Joan Kirner Women's and Children's Hospital


Ongoing Position 15.2 Hours per week

Your contribution 


This is a job share role to provide Genetic counselling to patients of the Joan Kirner Women's and Children's Hospital.


The role includes; direct clinical service provision, responding to referrals as required, coordination of appointments for visiting clinical geneticists and providing education and support to colleagues regarding the provision of Clinical Genetics and Genomics.


Your duties will include (but are not limited to) the following:



  • Direct provision of quality clinical care to patients of the Genetic counselling Service

  • Effective documentation and communication of clinical care with other members of the health care team

  • Timely assessment and action of new referrals received

  • Provision of education regarding Genetics and Genomics to other health care providers within the organisation as required.


About you


To be successful within this role you will need to have:



  • Board eligibility in Genetic Counselling with the HGSA

  • Previous genetic counselling experience, preferably in perinatal genetics
