A day in the life of a Associate Midwife Manager at Dandenong Hospital

We guarantee that no two days will be the same.

You’ll enjoy the variety and challenge that comes from working with skilled senior staff and clinical mentors, while being supported by others in the leadership team across the program and across our large, complex health service.

  • Join the existing Associate Midwifery Management team support the Midwifery Team Leaders in the operational requirements of their postnatal wards in leading the planning, implementation, evaluation and maintenance of midwifery care at a consistently high standard.
  • Support our clinical workforce in gaining knowledge and skill, and maintaining this across a full scope of practice.
  • Our teams of midwives are given the opportunity to rotate through clinic, birth suite, postnatal and extended care into the home, to maximise continuity of care and a positive experience for women. 
  • Encourage and support Monash Women’s model of practice to ensure women receive consistent high quality, safe care throughout their journey. 
  • Work collaboratively with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team to achieve goals and health outcomes
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with health professionals, support staff and other stakeholders, both internal and external to Monash Health.
  • Consistently role model midwifery excellence, demonstrating your commitment to family centred care and best practice standards.
  • Participating in quality improvement across the program to support best practice
