Our Journey- South 2 at The Kingston Centre – Subacute Rehabilitation


South 2 is a 20 bed Subacute Rehabilitation Ward providing care and assistance with recovery for a diverse range of patients who have been in hospital and require complex interdisciplinary interventions.  We are currently looking for an experienced Associate Nurse Manager to join our team for a 12 month maternity leave cover, working 72 hours/fortnight. We pride ourselves on the delivery of high quality care through a multidisciplinary approach and strive for positive outcomes and experiences for our patients and staff. This is a fast paced work environment that provides opportunities and challenges for staff to ensure work satisfaction and enjoyment.


A day in the life


In this leadership role you will work closely with the Nurse Manager to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the ward. No two days will be the same as you work within an established, friendly and supportive team environment, working closely together to care for patients along with providing opportunities for staff development and growth in areas that staff are passionate about.


What you bring 


With broad experience as a Registered Nurse, you understand the importance of patient centred care. You have a genuine interest in working and interacting with our diverse patient group, supporting them with daily functions.  At times, this patient cohort can demonstrate challenging behaviours. Functions.


Your strong clinical skills will be regularly demonstrated as you undertake complex discharge planning, complex wounds and address continence and catheter issues to see that all patients are treated with dignity and respect whilst in our care. You bring genuine passion and interest to this unique environment.


With excellent communication and negotiation skills, you have the resilience to manage your responsibilities across a variable unit as part of a devoted team. While you have had some exposure to Subacute Services, experience in a dedicated Neuro Rehabilitation unit is not mandatory. At the heart of your practice is the patient and providing patient centred care always.  You have a ‘Lead by example’ attitude, are proactive and have exceptional time management and critical analysis skills
