About McCulloch House, Monash Health


Monash Health is the largest public health service in Victoria, employing over 18,000 people across a range of specialities.


McCulloch House is a dedicated centre of excellence in palliative care and oncology, offering symptom management and end-of-life care to inpatients with complex needs. As a purpose built 16-bed palliative care unit, we support approx. 500 patients per year. Our aim is to assess the needs of patients and their caregivers in relation to symptom management, respite and supportive care.


Located at Monash Medical Centre (Clayton), McCulloch House, liaising closely with both acute wards and community nursing teams along with a team of specialist medical and allied health staff we are committed to providing the best evidence-based care and support research and education to improve the knowledge base in this unique area.


About The Role


McCulloch House has an ongoing part time opportunity for ANM, with flexibility working across a rotating roster, 7 days a week.


Ideally you will have demonstrated skills in management, people leadership and nursing care as you will be responsible for managing the day to day operations, staffing and patient care of the ward. With your caring, passionate and engaging manner, you will play a key role in leading by example to ensure our service is run efficiently within a patient centred care and a family friendly environment. Using your excellent communication skills, you will work closely with a varied team of Health professionals and entities within McCulloch House with the sole purpose of delivering exceptional care and leadership at all times. 


About You


You are an experienced Registered Nurse, with a comprehensive understanding of Palliative care or you bring genuine passion and interest to this unique environment. Ideally, you have previous experience as an ANM.


With excellent communication and negotiation skills, you have the resilience to manage your responsibilities across a variable unit as a part of a devoted team.

What you Need:



  • Proven clinical experience

  • Previous leadership experience is desirable but not essential

  • Post Graduate studies within Palliative care, highly desirable

  • Current AHPRA registration

  • Working with Children Check (Employee)

  • Willingness to take on a portfolio(s) contributing to ward quality improvements and National Standards

  • Australian working rights
