The Position 

Position Title: Associate Nurse Unit Manager
Department: Residential Rehabilitation (Dual Diagnosis)
Classification: YW11 - YW12
Salary per hour (exc. super): Dependent on experience
Hours per fortnight: 80

About the Role

The Associate Nurse Unit Manager is responsible for providing leadership and direction within the Dual Diagnosis unit as well as acting as a positive role model, providing mentorship / preceptor ship to less experienced nurses, including graduate nurses and under-graduate nursing students.

They should have a strong sense of personal accountability, resilience and emotional intelligence and be able to provide safe customer-focussed patients care within a multidisciplinary environment.

The Team

The Mental Health Service provides psychiatric care and treatment across a large catchment area in Victoria stretching from Swan Hill in the north of the state to Gisborne in the south. Family sensitive practice is central to our models of mental health care and best practice ensures the identification, inclusion and support of families, carers and children. 

The Residential Rehabilitation (Dual Diagnosis Unit) has 8 beds and is designed to treat people experiencing moderate to severe co-occurring mental health and alcohol and/or other drug use problems. The programme supports recovery with the implementation of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) based psychotherapy interventions, motivational interviewing techniques along with physical exercise therapy.
