Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) AC4 - Subacute Services

Royal Park Campus

Royal Melbourne Hospital winner of the Premier’s Large Health Service of the Year Award for 2022

AC4 is a 25 bed Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) ward which includes a secure component, based at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Royal Park Campus. The ward specialises in assessment and management and care of the older person with dementia, chronic and complex conditions associated with aging and cognitive impairment

Your new role:

  • Ensure there is provision of high-quality standards of patient care. This includes the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for care in collaboration with multidisciplinary team to achieve the desired patient outcomes.
  • Assume the responsibilities of the manager maintaining professional and operational standard out of hours.
  • Ensure individual patient plans, Estimated Discharge dates, barriers to discharge, next destination are updated on the Patient Journey Board (Electronic Medical Records system) each shift and understands the importance of this workflow to facilitate effective and timely discharge planning and communicates effectively with bed management team and multidiscipline ward teams.

About you:

  • Registered Nurses that are eligible to apply must have a minimum of 3 years acute or subacute experience with leadership experience working in the Nurse in Charge role and/ or have experience in managing a portfolio
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a team
  • Demonstrated provision of high-quality patient care
  • Effective communication skills and a passion for continued professional development.
