About the role

Upton House is a 25 bed inpatient unit with a 5 bed intensive care area (ICA) is seeking an Associate Nurse Unit Manager on a permanent basis. The Associate Nurse Unit Manager role provides the opportunity to further develop leadership skills and contribute to the ongoing development of our progressive Recovery Model of Care. You will be confident managing the unexpected, an excellent communicator, and a highly skilled clinician who can work autonomously yet simultaneously as a flexible team player.  You will be committed to working with consumers and families to achieve the highest level of independent function, leading to successful community integration and improved quality of life outcomes for consumers.

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Post-graduate qualification relevant to mental health nursing or completion of specialist undergraduate mental health nursing program (or a specialist post basic course of training which lead to registration as a Division 3 nurse under the Nurses Board of Victoria)
  • Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australian (NMBA) via AHPRA
  • Demonstrated excellence in clinical leadership within the multidisciplinary workforce
  • Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience
  • A strong commitment to high quality care
  • The ability to work as part of a diverse team
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
