  • Extensive range of career and learning opportunities

  • Box Hill location – work close to home, close to public transport and shops

Eastern Health

Eastern Health is one of Melbourne’s largest public health services. We provide a range of emergency, surgical, medical and general healthcare services, including maternity, palliative care, mental health, drug and alcohol, residential care, community health and state-wide specialist services  to people and communities that are diverse in culture, age, socio-economic status, population and healthcare needs.

About the role

An opportunity exists on the paediatric ward at Box Hill Hospital for an experienced ANUM. Our busy paediatric unit has 16 beds. We support children from neonatal age to 18 years old. Our presentations range from surgical (general surgery, ENT, plastics and orthopaedics) to medical, including a speciality Eating Disorders unit. We provide a family-centred, holistic model of care and provide an environment where families are encouraged to participate in patient care. We are an innovative, collaborative and friendly team, and support our nurses with learning and teaching opportunities, including the Postgraduate Certificate in Nursing (Paediatrics).

You will have extensive paediatric nursing experience, and have had some involvement with leadership responsibilities. In this role you will support the NUM and be responsible for shift coordination and running the department. You will also have a portfolio for which you’ll be responsible. You’ll be cool under pressure, a multi-tasker, and approachable. You will be confident managing the unexpected, an excellent communicator, and a highly skilled clinician who can work autonomously yet simultaneously be part of a team. You will have a desire to improve the paediatric/family experience of a hospital admission, and you'll be keen to be a part of the ward camaraderie, including dress-up and themed days.
