The Supreme Court of Victoria is the highest court in Victoria and comprises the Court of Appeal and the Trial Division. The Court deals with major civil, public law, and criminal matters, plus appeals against decisions of lower courts. The Court recognises that its people are integral to its ability to meet and exceed community expectations and to achieve its goal of being an outstanding superior court. We continually strive to create a high performance workplace that is characterised by creativity, innovation, flexibility, and quality delivery.  The Court employs associates who form part of the chambers staff of a particular judge.

In the Court of Appeal, Justice Pamela Tate is looking for a second associate.  The second associate is responsible for engaging in legal research, preparing memoranda on points of law, summarising the procedural or factual background to appeals, proof-reading draft judgments, clerking in court, and performing some administrative tasks in chambers.  The work relates to civil, public law, and criminal appeals. The second associate will work closely with the senior associate in Justice Tate's chambers.

The second associate position will be for a period of 18 months.  The start-date is negotiable but it is anticipated that the position will commence on or about 20 July 2020.
