A unique opportunity exists for a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) to work in the South Western Victoria Region of the Victorian Department of Education and Training. The purpose of this role is to provide supervision to selected school, Area and/or Regional staff who are pursuing BCBA accreditation with the Behaviour Analyst Certification Board (BACB). The role will also involve a small caseload of direct behavioural assessment and intervention for students with behaviours of concern.

A Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) position is available in the South Western Victoria Region (SWVR) of the Victorian Department of Education and Training. The role's core responsibility is to provide supervision to selected school, Area and/or Regional staff who are pursuing BCBA accreditation with the Behaviour Analyst Certification Board (BACB). As per the BACB guidelines, as a supervisor you will be a BCBA/BCBA-D in good standing and must also meet an ongoing supervision Continuing Education Unit (CEU) requirement. In addition, you will have also completed an 8-hour supervision training before providing supervision to those accruing experience hours towards their BCBA certification. The Department has invested in over 100 scholarships for departmental employees to undertake the Monash University Master of Education - Applied Behaviour Analysis. This role will supervise selected scholarship recipients wishing to obtain BCBA certification through defined practical experience in applied behaviour analysis. The BCBA will use the 'BCBA Experience Standards Monthly System' administered by the BACB to access the information needed for trainees to meet the requirements for BCBA certification. Regular reporting of trainee progress will be required. The role will also involve providing direct behavioural assessment and intervention to individual students. The direct work will involve coaching school teams to use behavioural science to respond to students with behaviours of concern. These positions are a core feature of the Department's approach to multi-tiered intervention and will contribute to establishing capability of staff to effectively and efficiently respond to the needs of students with behaviours of concern. Other duties in line with Regional priorities may also be required.
