The Country Fire Authority (CFA) is one of the world's largest, and most highly regarded, community-based emergency services organisations. About the Role:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide the Volunteer & Capability Directorate with a broad range of high-level business support. Reporting to the Executive Director Volunteers & Capability, the position will work closely the Volunteers and Capability Leadership team in ensuring that the workflows and priorities are met, and that the quality of documentation produced from the Directorate is of high standard.

The position operates within a complex and highly sensitive environment and the Business Directorate Coordinator must ensure that appropriate confidentiality and discretion is applied at all times.

The Business Directorate Coordinator is expected to work autonomously and display the ability to build relationships and trust with internal stakeholders, volunteers and their representative body, industrial bodies, government representatives and a range of external stakeholders from the community.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in business administration or relevant discipline or relevant experience.

  • Extensive experience in providing professional administrative support and successfully managing sensitive and high risk activities within a large and complex organisation.

  • Experience in building and improving systems, processes and quality assurance mechanisms.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise and manage key client relationships at senior levels.

  • Demonstrated research skills and proficiency in preparing high level and complex written documents within deadlines.

  • Initiative and strong analytical skills that support effective problem solving and decision making.

  • Highly developed organisational skills within a complex environment together with demonstrated skills in establishing priorities and meeting strict timelines
