Business Intelligence Developer

We are seeking a highly professional, self-motivated, Business Intelligence Developer to join the Monitoring and Performance (MaP) Reporting System team within Western Health. The team is responsible for the end-to-end development, delivery, and maintenance of reports and dashboards to support both the Administrative and Clinical functions of the organisation. Drawing from a wide range of source systems the development work primarily involves utilising the Microsoft Business Intelligence tools including Microsoft SQL Server and Power BI to deliver the right information, to the right people, at the right time – and in the format they require.

The successful candidate will have excellent T-SQL skills and possess the ability to fine tune SQL scripts to ensure optimal performance is achieved. They will be comfortable working with complex datasets from a variety of different sources. Exposure to working with Cerner Millennium Electronic Medical Record data will also be highly regarded. The successful candidate will excel in either (or preferably both) of these areas:

  • Experience with the Microsoft SQL Server. The ability to create intuitive, engaging, reports in Power BI will be highly regarded.
  • Extract, transform and loading data from multiple data sources into a central Data Warehouse.
  • Exposure to working with Cerner Millennium Electronic Medical Record data will be highly regarded.

Essential Criteria:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification and database development background, including substantial experience delivering Business Intelligence solutions.
  • Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience working with a range of stakeholders.
  • Possess the ability to manage multiple and concurrent projects on time with a structured approach to problem resolution.
  • Possess professional standards with strong accuracy, attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Provide flexibility to work out of hours on occasion to meet project deadlines.
