Attendance requirements for this position will be negotiated with the successful applicant for up to two weeks.
This senior management position will report to the College Council through the College Princiipal and be required to work closely with the Principals of the junior and senior campuses along with the college Management Team.
The Business Manager will be accountable for the management of all financial, human resource, administrative and physical resources of the college.
As a member of the Leadership Team, the Business Manager will be expected to display leadership qualities, be a visonary and contributor plus have the ability to lead and manage others.
The Business Manager is responsible for the management of all Education Support staff across the college including employment, replacement, performance and professional development. The Business Manager will advise the Principal and College Council on appropriate support levels and will contribute to school policy on human resources, finance, facilities and business planning. The Principal and College Council will rely on the position holder as the expert practitioner in these areas.
The financial management of the college is a major aspect of this role and requires a high level of expertise and the ability to work within, understand and introduce all DET policies and procedures along with meeting annual audit requirements.
The position holder would need to have high level interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team. Requirements of the role include high level human resource and financial management experience. The position requires expertise in the preparation and monitoring of financial reports plus the ability to investigate and present report findings with recommendations for decision making by the Principal, College Council and other senior personnel.
The role of Business Manager is a complex one with duties that often fall outside the normal scope of a position of this type. The position requires a great deal of professionalism as a representative of the college at meetings, conferences and in the wider community.
