The Business Officer provides comprehensive business support and advice to the Office of the Chief Communications Officer, and delivers an effective business management service, support and advice function for the broader Strategic Communications and Marketing Branch.

The successful applicant will have demonstrated experience in design and implementation of business improvement projects, workforce planning, work effectively as a member of a team and undertake a wide variety of work across the branch.

The key accountabilities for this role will include:

  • Provide a range of administrative and business management support services including onboarding and offboarding of staff, recruitment planning, maintenance of accurate personnel and payroll forms and records, leading the maintenance and compliance of SharePoint record keeping processes including the proper maintenance of equipment and asset registers.
  • Establish new systems and ways of working to support the strengthening of business support functions for the branch, including design and implementation of business improvement projects and creation of high-quality reports and documents for decision makers.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication with relevant departmental stakeholders and business partners to facilitate effective service delivery and advice, ensuring communication channels and information is shared and easily accessible to meet user requirements.
  • Contribute proactively to issues management within the branch, recommend options and solutions. Ensure that solutions are properly implemented and communicated. Provide advice and support to the Senior Business Adviser regarding branch operations including human resources, recruitment, record keeping, finance and asset management.
