Seeking a capable and experienced Administrator with Accounts Payable/Receivable background.

Planning Panels Victoria (PPV) has been established facilitate public participation in the planning and environment decision making process.  PPV provide a process to independently assess planning scheme changes or development proposals through the consideration of submissions, the conduct of hearings and the preparation of reports.  Planning Panels provide advice and make recommendations; with the final decision made by the responsible statutory body (local Council) or the Minister for Planning.

This position works in unison with the Finance Manager and Planning Panels team and is a key role in progressing finance and business support in line with established systems and processes.

With a broad range of activities that include processing payment claims, processing accounts payable and assisting with receivable matters, monthly management reports, end of month and end of financial year processes.

The role includes overseeing purchase orders and matching these with contracts, arranging travel and accommodation bookings, meetings and training programs for Panel Members and staff as required. Further, it prepares correspondence, records management, archiving, organising seminars and events and providing support for Panel hearings, effectively dealing with stakeholders, including the general public.

This role will appeal to someone with solid finance accounts payable/receivable and reporting background who is looking for a broader and more interesting role.  Ideally, we are seeking a confident all-rounder who shows great initiative and problem-solving abilities, with a keen interest in driving improvements to business operations and being committed to customers service excellence.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in the provision of accurate and timely accounts payable, and/or accounts receivable, finance and business support functions or government experience would be an advantage.
  • Proven ability to deal with the public and resolve stakeholder issues in a professional, timely and courteous manner

This is a fixed term position available until 13 April 2023.
