The Position

Title: Cancer Clinical Trial Research Registered Nurse

Department: Cancer and Wellness Centre 

Classification: Nurses & Midwives EA RN10-17 - YU13

Hours per fortnight: 40 hours

Status:  Fixed Term with possibility for ongoing

Applications are sought from suitably qualified Registered Nurses to work in the Cancer and Wellness Centre at Echuca Regional Health.

Key responsibilities include:

  • The Clinical Research Nurse under direction from the Cancer and Wellness Centre Manager will assist investigators with aspects of clinical trial start-up, coordination and conducting participant’s study visits, in collaboration with the Bendigo Cancer Centre, ERH research and Development Team and Alfred TrialHub.

  • The main focus of the position will be establishing and coordinating oncology and haematology clinical trials at Echuca Regional Health.

  • The Research Nurse will work in accordance with the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA) Note for Guidance on Good Clinical Practice (CPMP/ICH/135/95) and the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Research involving Humans.

Our team requires someone who has:

  • Registered Nurse with up to 3 years experience in Oncology/Haematology Nursing
  • Ideally you will have proven experience as a Grade 3 Research Nurse or relevant experience demonstrating the appropriate competencies and skills for the job and clinical setting
  • Experience in clinical project management or clinical redesign
  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of various IT platforms, databases and database management, data entry and above average IT skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skill
  • High level interpersonal skills
  • Relevant post graduate qualifications preferred

This position requires completion of a satisfactory National Police Check and (where relevant) provision of a Working With Children Check and check on the Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme prior to appointment.  In addition, this position requires evidence of vaccination status for COVID-19.
