About the Position

An exciting opportunity currently exists for a motivated, team orientated and multi skilled Grade 2 Cardiac Technologist to join our team based at Frankston Hospital in, Victoria. Forming part of the Peninsula Health network, the Cardiac Investigation Unit offers a range of services in the emergency, inpatient and outpatient setting, including invasive and non-invasive cardiology procedures.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Cardiac Technologist to join our team as a locum replacing a tech on Maternity leave part time basis, split between the hospital Cath Lab and the Cardiac Investigation unit. The successful candidate would ideally have Cath Lab experience and be willing to participate in the on call roster as well as experience in pacemaker interrogation and implantation. The role entails participation in on call as a part of the Hospital’s Catheter Lab interventional team. Services include Cardiac angiography and angioplasty, a 24 hour STEMI service, pacemaker implantation and other percutaneous interventions as required.

The role also involves ensuring the proficiency of pacemaker clinic assisting in interrogation and reprogramming of devices as well as remote monitoring.

What You Will Be Doing

• Monitoring and recording haemodynamic parameters for interventional procedures and relevant paper work
• Assisting in pacemaker implantation and initializing remote monitoring
• interrogation of inpatient and outpatient pacemakers and defibrillators and managing pacemaker clinic
• Manage remote pacemaker monitoring results
• Application and analysis of Ambulatory blood pressure and holter monitors
• Performance of 12 lead electrocardiograms

What You Need

We anticipate you will have:
• Bachelor Degree or applied science degree or other relevant post graduate qualification
• Extensive invasive and non-invasive cardiology experience
• pacemaker experience
• Desirable Criteria
IBHRE pacing qualification
