Ward 32 is a Cardiothoracic/Respiratory Unit and Ward 32 West is Cardiac Day Unit. There are 8 high dependency beds that care for patients post cardiac surgery requiring inotropes, NIV, temporary cardiac pacing. We have innovated with the development of a nurse led TOE-DCR program and are focused on nursing innovation.

We support post graduate studies with Deakin University, high dependency programs and transition to speciality (TSP) programs. With two educators and clinical support nurses, our Wards are focused on building capability in all our staff.

About The Role

We are seeking Registered Nurses (RN) to work across our Cardiothoracic, Respiratory and Cardiac Care Wards and be part of our highly skilled Nursing team at Monash Heart. Our Nurses work between the Cardiothoracic/Respiratory (32 Ward) and Cardiac Day Ward (32 West) and we have developed a highly skilled, agile and resourceful workforce that remains patient centric.

We have recently hired outstanding nursing talent and have more opportunities available for RN's seeking a clinical career to upskill and are genuinely passionate about Cardiothoracic, Respiratory & Cardiac at Monash Heart.

Currently available roles include Full & Part Time, Ongoing & Temporary fixed term roles.  Flexibility to work a minimum of 0.6 EFT across a 24/7 rotating roster is sought.

About You

We are seeking RN’s who have completed a Masters or Postgraduate studies in critical care. Our team is focused on the delivery of evidenced based care and supporting ongoing professional development. As an accomplished RN, you are also dedicated to safe best practice and quality care, committed to delivering patient centred care & a patient advocacy, enthusiastic, compassionate & able to work collaboratively and excited to be accountable for and manage specific portfolios in our relentless pursuit of excellence.

What You Need

  • A relevant Post Graduate Qualification, in critical care is highly desirable

  • Previous cardiac or cardiothoracic experience

  • Willingness to take on a portfolio(s) contributing to ward quality improvements and National Standards

  • Australian working rights

  • Current AHPRA registration
