Jessie McPherson Private Hospital (JMPH) is a 115 bed tertiary level Private Hospital which has been co-located at Monash Medical Centre Clayton since 1987. Ward 31 North is a 26 bed Cardiology / Cardiothoracic surgical unit that will re-locate to the Victorian Heart Hospital (VHH) in February 2023, with increased capacity to 48 beds. Our co-location with Monash Health provides a unique opportunity for access to world-renowned research and teaching facilities.
Jessie McPherson Private Hospital also has a wider official specialist role for greater Melbourne, regional Victoria and interstate in such specialties as cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, neuro-surgery, gastroenterology, gastrointestinal surgery, high acuity maternity and neonatal services.
About Victorian Heart Hospital
The Victorian Heart Hospital will be an Australian-first heart hospital, bringing together the world’s best in cardiovascular care, training and research. The Victorian Heart Hospital will improve the lives of those diagnosed, or at risk of cardiovascular disease with an iconic, purpose-built centre of excellence enabling the integration of clinical and scientific resources and expertise.
Located on the Monash University Clayton campus, the VHH will support integration of world-class research, education and training with clinical care, translating advanced developments into new and innovative models of cardiac care.
VHH will be the first cardiac-specific, standalone hospital in Australia and will incorporate both public and private (JMPH) services to the local community and across the State.

Position summary:
The JMPH Interventional Cardiology / Medical Cardiology Career Medical Officer (CMO) primary function is the provision of high quality clinical care to cardiac patients requiring medical care within JMPH Ward 31 North under the direction of the Visiting Medical Officer (VMO). Key responsibilities of the CMO role are outlined in the CMO Position Description.
Full-time / Part-time positions available to cover business hours from Monday – Saturday in 2022 and then transitioning to a 24 hour service on re-location to the Victorian Heart Hospital in 2023.
