Northern Area Mental Health Service (NAMHS), working closely with the Northern Hospital, believes in the effective delivery of high quality psychiatric services. Your new role

• Participate in carer consultation processes to assist the service managers and senior clinical staff to contribute to the development of policy and programs that are sensitive to consumers’ needs


• Attend relevant meetings as a member of NAMHS Executive, NAMHS Service and NWMH CCAG 


• Participate in the promotion of carer workforce initiatives in line with NAMHS & NWMH policy & service developments 


• Lead, develop, maintain and convene the NAMHS CLEAR Committee including recruitment and support of members 


• Be involved with existing carer activities & work in conjunction with Area’s Lived Experience Leads 


• Participate in and contribute to organisational activities that promote greater understanding of the role of consumers in treatment and policy development

About you

• A Carer, family member or supporter of an Adult Consumer of an Area Mental Health Service


• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with families/carers, consumers, colleagues and other service providers


• Ability to work with family/carers and consumers, from a range of cultural backgrounds.


• Someone with Passion, enthusiasm and the want to make a difference.
