What You Will Be Doing

Enthusiastic and motivated Sonographers are invited to join the busy Peninsula Health team as casual or part-time employees. The Sonographer is responsible for the conducting of ultrasound examinations and producing diagnostic images in line with the accepted policies/procedures and clinical practice guidelines of Peninsula Health. The Sonographer will be able to effectively manage and coordinate the operations and prioritise workflow of the rostered modality and be able to liaise with other modality stakeholders and management to ensure department operations are as effective as possible.

The Sonographer is part of a wider multi-disciplinary Ultrasound and Radiology team and will:
• Produce high quality diagnostic medical imaging examinations and services as directed by the Sonographer Supervisor in conjunction with modality supervisors.
• Assist the Sonographer Supervisor to manage and coordinate the ultrasound team and assist in quality and administrative requirements of the department.
• Assist and mentor other team members and clinical staff in the provision of all medical imaging services.
• Lead by example with respect to professional behaviour and approach to patient care at all times
• Demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of care relating to their area of responsibility.
• Demonstrate high levels of clinical reasoning including critical analysis, problem solving and decision-making.

What You Need

We anticipate you will:

• Have ASAR membership or eligibility for registration with the ASAR and formal Ultrasound qualifications
• Produce accurate written documentation using clear, concise and grammatically correct language.
• Confidently convey ideas and information in a clear and interesting way and listens to feedback.
• Able to use common software applications and is competent across the Microsoft Office suite.
• Plan and prioritise to ensure outcomes are achieved.
• Detect the underlying concerns, interests or emotions that lie behind what is being said and done.
• Seek all relevant information for problem solving and evaluates effectiveness and adjusts actions as required.
• Identify and respond to the needs of others and constantly looks for continuous improvement opportunities.
• Aware of, interprets and applies relevant policies and guidelines.
