Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses in the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.


An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and highly experienced RPN, SW or OT to manage the NE Extended CAT Team. 


The North East Area Mental Health Service (NEAMHS) is a fully integrated service component of The Austin. NEAMHS prides itself on being consumer recovery focused and to this end has developed an area wide team approach to its service delivery.


The NECAT service and its subprograms of PACER, Triage, Emergency Psychiatric Service and PAPU provide highly skilled clinical assessments and treatment and work closely with local service providers and other specialist mental health services.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Provide operational leadership to both clinical and administrative staff to ensure the effective delivery of quality clinical services.

  • Effectively manage the NECATS budget and resources 

  • Engage in strategic planning, service expansion and the development of special projects

  • Capacity to work as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary professional team and contribute significantly to the achievements of the team.

To be successful in this role:



  • Registered with AHPRA or equivalent governing body

  • Have extensive experience as a mental health clinician

  • Well developed communication, networking and interpersonal skills
