Reporting to the Secretary, the CEO is the most senior executive role in Invest Victoria. It is a high-profile leadership position representing Victoria, operating at the highest levels of government.

The Department of Treasury and Finance provides economic, financial and resource management advice to help the Victorian Government deliver its policies.

Invest Victoria is the Victorian Government's investment promotion agency with a focus on achieving sustained economic prosperity for Victoria by attracting and facilitating investment and job creation opportunities for the State. It sets the international investment strategy for the State, attracting and leading Foreign Direct Investment and investment opportunities of state significance through a range of levers including facilitation services.

About the role

AO Head 3, $360,001-$479,000 (TRP)

Reporting to the Secretary, the CEO is the most senior executive role in Invest Victoria. It is a high-profile leadership position representing Victoria, operating at the highest levels of government.

This CEO will lead the organisation to deliver its strategic and operating plans leveraging the capabilities of a talented team within a diverse, inclusive and high performing culture.

A recognised leader, they will plan, coordinate and execute whole of government foreign direct investment attraction strategy, driving long-term economic prosperity for Victoria by boosting capability, innovation and productivity.

To be considered for this role, you must demonstrate:

  • Broad public and private sector experience in finance, investment management or related fields;
  • Strong knowledge of economic development and investment market participants, including opportunities in Australian and Offshore markets;
  • Strong understanding and experience in asset management, finance and commercial transactions;
  • Strong strategic, commercial and financial acumen;
  • Able to deal with ambiguity and complexity;
  • Outstanding communication skills;
  • Strong executive leadership skills; and
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders in a complex environment.
