Position Summary: 

Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Communications the Change Communications Advisers deliver high-level communications advice to key stakeholders by leveraging best-practice principles of change communications across the Department of Health's program of work.The role supports the development of communications strategies for major projects and initiatives and contributes to the implementation and evaluation of these strategies. As appropriate, they may also be required to provide support to other teams across the Branch as and when required, including participating in out of hours media and emergency rosters, providing support for public emergencies and large-scale communications campaigns.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate the ability to engage in a compelling way, communicate with and work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to deliver strategic objectives.
  • Provide communications advice and work collaboratively across the department to ensure the delivery of effective communications that are of a high written and visual standard and comply with departmental and whole-of-Victorian Government guidelines.
  • Develop, deliver and evaluate communication strategies and deliver or oversee production of print, online and multimedia materials and departmental events.
  • Initiate and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and seek opportunities to engage stakeholders in the development and application of new and/or contemporary methodologies to improve communications services.
  • Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
  • Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate how the actions and outcomes of this role and work unit impact clients and the department's ability to deliver, or facilitate the delivery of, effective support and services.
