Child Protection Practitioners

Joining the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) as a Child Protection Practitioner (CPP3) is the first step in a rewarding career where you will personally be making a significant improvement to the quality of life for some of Victorian's most at-risk children.

This is your opportunity to obtain thorough experience and exposure across the entire child welfare process, dealing with a variety of complex matters from beginning to end.

Key Responsibilities Include, however are not limited to:

-          Assessing children and young people in need of protection.

-          Conducting risk assessments and investigations.

-          Working collaboratively with families, community services organisations and other professionals to develop and implement effective plans for children.

-          Managing complex cases, problem solving and presenting matters to the Children's Court of Victoria as required.

-          Be responsible for supporting and developing Child Protection Practitioners in the integration of theory and practice while demonstrating your expertise through case practice.

-          Working collaboratively with the Team Manager to strengthen case practice.

-          Provide effective service delivery and support other practitioners.

In this role your social work or welfare qualifications will be welcomed into a supportive and hard-working team who share a common goal.

To be a child protection practitioner you will need a current and valid driver's licence, to have completed relevant qualification and hold a minimum of 2 years working experience.
