The NMWH learning, workforce and culture precinct, situated at Royal Park Campus, includes the Mental Health Training and Development Unit (MHTDU), Nursing and Allied Health Entry Level and Transition Programs, and Management of Clinical Aggression program. Your success in this role, will be in your ability to



  • Conduct a program of work that identifies the workforce learning and development needs Social Workers across NWMH

  • Conduct scoping activities that identify Social Work roles across the lifespan, including data regarding the positions in various areas

  • Develop and co-ordinate a Transition to Clinical Mental Health program for experienced SW from other sectors or other professions

  • Work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders including managers, learning leaders, discipline leaders, and the Centre for Mental Health Learning.

  • Provide or develop links with  Social Work Academic programs to ensure curriculum and Research/Post Graduate study sector

  • Contribute to the achievement of NWMH’s overall objectives/deliverables


Your Contribution



  • 10 years’ post-graduation experience in clinical mental health

  • Experience in designing and delivering learning and development programs in either Social Work or Mental Health settings

  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership role and working with large and diverse groups of stakeholders

  • Experience in identifying professional development needs of health professionals

  • Demonstrated skills and experience in professional (clinical) supervision; conducting training sessions and facilitating groups in a multidisciplinary context

  • Able to competently perform in a position with a degree of autonomy and responsibility whilst also contributing effectively as a team member within a multidisciplinary team environment

  • Understanding of and ability to contribute to positive workforce culture, staff wellbeing, and leadership initiatives.
