Clinical Nurse – Aged Care Quality

Latrobe Regional Hospital (LRH) are looking for an Aged Care Quality Clinical Nurse to join our Mental Health Aged Care Unit (Macalister), on a part time, ongoing basis.

Our Macalister Unit provides care for people over the age of 65 and consists of 10 Acute assessment beds and 10 residential nursing home beds. 

We’re looking for applicants who are passionate about aged care and playing a key role in providing clinical nursing leadership in a quality focused role.  Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, this role is responsible for ensuring compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards through auditing and implementing quality improvement initiatives.

Working closely with our Governance team, Aged Care Quality Committee and other key stakeholders, you will review, collect and analyse data, identify improvement opportunities and ensure the correct processes and documentation are in place, allowing for the continued delivery of safe, high-quality person-centred care.

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in aged care
  • Division 3 Registered Nurse or Division 1 Registered Nurse with post graduate qualifications in mental health
  • Current working knowledge of Aged Care Standards and Act, NSQHS and National Standards for Mental Health and the accreditation process
  • Advanced knowledge of ACFI system, claiming processes and documentation required
  • Proven experience in analysing data, report writing and making recommendations
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate and guide staff on expectations and quality requirements
