About the Role

The Mental Health Program is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Mental Health professional to take on the permanent part time role of Clinical Nurse Consultant for 4x days per week. This relatively new position, provides an exciting opportunity for a qualified Registered Psychiatric Nurse to become a Clinical Nurse Consultant, who will be employed within the Mental Health Program, situated on Dandenong Hospital on Unit 2. The successful applicant will work in collaboration with the Nurse Managers and Nurse Educator, to contribute towards further developing and enhancing our specialist nursing workforce by providing clinical support, mentoring and coaching, to build skills and advance clinical practice, specialised in youth mental health nursing. The incumbent will be required to  implement the  Mental Health Intensive Care Framework, drive and sustain Safewards, in addition, identify and development of priority issues to address contemporary mental health nursing practice on the wards to be able to best support vulnerable consumers presenting with complex care needs.

If you have clinical leadership expertise in acute Youth mental health nursing, are truly passionate about best practice standards and excellence in quality patient standards of care, have excellent interpersonal abilities, enjoy leading quality initiatives, can time manage, multi task and be well organised, able to work independently, and have digital capabilities, this maybe the role for you.

What You Need:

  • Post Graduate diploma in Mental Health Nursing or a Bachelor in Mental Health Nursing
  • Demonstrated experience in Youth Mental Health
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Include any other mandatory/required skills or licenses
  • Australian working rights
